The name says exactly what to expect. Elephant Bedroom Camp sits on a palm-shaded stretch of the Ewaso Nyiro River, and elephants regularly wander through camp, sometimes passing right by your tent, a genuinely close encounter most camps can’t offer. Just 14 spacious tents keep the property intimate, each with rustic, colorful African touches and a private plunge pool on the deck.
Beyond the elephants at your doorstep, game drives seek out the full Samburu Special Five, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx and gerenuk, alongside lion and leopard drawn to the river. Bush walks, cultural visits with the local Samburu community, and photography-focused outings round out the experience, and the lounge and dining areas carry a vibrant, intimate safari style suited to slowing down between drives.
