Set on a private concession on the western edge of the Masai Mara, Kichwa Tembo sits squarely in the path of the Great Migration, with wildebeest and zebra herds typically moving through from July to October, followed closely by cheetah and other predators. Managed by andBeyond, the camp recently completed a refurbishment, refreshed interiors, modernized bathrooms, new canvas, and more generous bed configurations across all 40 tents.
The location itself is a highlight, at the base of the Oloololo Escarpment beside the Sabaringo River, with views over the Mara plains. A split-level main area includes a bar, lounge spaces, an interactive kitchen and dining areas, alongside an outdoor pool surrounded by lawn. Three tents can accommodate families with interconnecting rooms, and eight superior view tents offer the best uninterrupted views in camp.
