This two day safari focuses on Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a private sanctuary in the Tsavo ecosystem with rocky hills, open bush and a busy waterhole. You arrive in time for afternoon game drives, then spend the night at a lodge inside the sanctuary, where wildlife can be watched from the lodge after dark. Day two starts with a morning game drive before the drive back to the coast.
The route below is a guide. Game-drive times, stops and accommodation are tailored around your dates and selected park.
Pickup is early in the morning, with the drive along the Mombasa/Nairobi road via Mariakani towards Voi, with a stop for breakfast along the way. We enter the sanctuary around midday and check in at the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, we head out for a game drive through the sanctuary, looking for elephants, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and plains game. We return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, with the chance to watch animals at the waterhole in the evening.
After an early breakfast, we take a final morning game drive in the sanctuary. After lunch at the lodge, we check out and drive back to the coast. Arrival in Malindi is around 5.00pm.
