This safari gives you a full day inside each park instead of rushing through both in one. Day one covers Tsavo East with an overnight stay in the park. Day two moves into Tsavo West with a dedicated evening game drive at the Rhino Sanctuary. Day three ends with something the shorter safaris don’t include, a ranger escorted walking safari at Mzima Springs, where you get close to crocodiles and hippos on foot rather than from the vehicle.
The route below is a guide. Game-drive times, stops and accommodation are tailored around your dates and selected park.
Pickup is at 7.00am, driving to Tsavo East along the Mombasa, Nairobi road. We enter through Bachuma Gate for morning game drives, then break for lunch at the lodge or camp, with time to relax until 4.00pm.
Afternoon game drives run from 4.00pm to 6.00pm, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the same lodge or camp.
After an early breakfast, morning game drives continue on the route into Tsavo West National Park, entering at around 11.00am. We continue game viewing on the way to the lodge, with lunch at the camp or lodge on arrival.
An evening game drive from 4.00pm to 6.00pm takes in the Rhino Sanctuary, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge or camp.
After an early breakfast, the morning game drive heads to Mzima Springs. Here, escorted by armed park rangers, you take a walking safari to see crocodiles and hippos at close range on foot.
We leave the park at around 11.00am, with lunch served on the way at Voi town. The drive back continues along the Mombasa, Nairobi highway via Mariakani and Kaloleni, passing coconut plantations, arriving in Malindi at around 5.00pm.
