Amboseli is best known for one view, its large elephant herds crossing open plains with Mount Kilimanjaro rising in the background. It’s one of the most photographed sights in Kenya, and this overnight trip gives you two full game drives to see it for yourself, plus a night inside the park.
The route below is a guide. Game-drive times, stops and accommodation are tailored around your dates and selected park.
Pickup from your Nairobi location is at 6.00am, for the drive to Amboseli National Park. A morning game drive takes place before checking in at your camp or lodge, with lunch served between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
An afternoon game drive runs from 4.00pm to 6.00pm, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the camp or lodge.
An early morning game drive runs from 6.00am to 8.30am, when Kilimanjaro is often at its clearest, followed by breakfast back at the camp or lodge. A further game drive continues en route to lunch at Emali Hotel.
After lunch, the drive continues back to Nairobi, arriving from 5.00pm.
