This route links three destinations that don’t often appear together, and finishes somewhere most similar itineraries don’t, on the coast rather than back where you started. Amboseli opens the trip with its famous elephant herds and Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop, before continuing south into Taita Hills, a private, less crowded sanctuary. The safari finishes in Tsavo East, home of Kenya’s red elephants and maneless lions, then delivers you straight to the coast, ready for the beach without an extra flight back through Nairobi.

Your 4 Day Safari, Amboseli, Taita Hills & Tsavo East to the Coast Itinerary

The route below is a guide. Game-drive times, stops and accommodation are tailored around your dates and selected park.

Day 1

Nairobi to Amboseli

An early departure from Nairobi follows the Nairobi-Mombasa highway to the Emali junction, then on to Amboseli National Park, about 4 hours in total. After lunch at your lodge, an afternoon game drive takes in the park’s elephant herds and, weather permitting, views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge or camp.

Day 2

Amboseli to Taita Hills via Tsavo West

After breakfast and a final Amboseli game drive, the route continues through Chyulu Gate into Tsavo West, then on to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary, with game viewing along the way. Lunch and check-in at your lodge is followed by an afternoon game drive around the sanctuary’s waterholes. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Taita Hills to Tsavo East

After breakfast, the drive continues into Tsavo East National Park, with a morning game drive en route. Lunch at your lodge or camp is followed by an afternoon game drive along the Galana River area. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Final Game Drive and Return to Nairobi

After breakfast, a final morning game drive is followed by the drive to the coast, with game viewing en route where the road allows and lunch served on the way. Arrival at your coast hotel is in the afternoon or early evening.
